MUSIC MINISTRY

Music is a central part of worship at Augustana. We are blessed with a number of talented people eager to share their gift of music with the congregation and community.

  • The Adult Choir provides special musical selections and leads the congregation in worship at the 10:30 am services September-May and at other services on special occasions. The Adult Choir along with other ensembles presents a Christmas Concert each year. Practices are regularly held Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. John Westin is the Director.


  • The Augustana Praise Team is a group of musicians and singers who lead worship at the monthly contemporary worship service. The Praise Team includes keyboard, piano, lead guitar, bass guitar, flute, drums and a large group of talented singers. Rehearsals are held Sunday mornings at 9:15 am September-May.



WOMEN OF THE ELCA
All women of Augustana are part of the Women of the ELCA. Our congregational unit is part of the Heart of the North Conference, on of seven conferences, which comprise the Northwest Wisconsin Synod. Sixty-four synods make up the Church wide Women of the ELCA.

Augustana WELCA conducts four special meetings during the year. The women also have morning and evening Circle Bible Studies. There is also a Girlfriends at Prayer group that meets regularly on Wednesday mornings. Augustana women are very involved in community and global ministries. Many quilts are made during the year to send to Lutheran World Relief. The entire congregation contributes to the other Parish Projects, which include layettes, school kits, health kits, sewing kits, midwife kits, bandages, bags for hospitalized children, cans for car seat programs, and the community food pantry. The women also provide funding to support a missionary.


The Augustana Lutheran Church Library is open to all members of our congregation. The library seeks to strengthen the education of our congregation by providing materials that will increase our knowledge of Faith, Social and Economic Issues, Enrich our Worship life, and Encourage an appreciation of good books, and Deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Adults and children are invited to investigate the library as we have quite a number of books on our shelves and both groups are sure to find something to enjoy. The books are grouped by reader interest with some of the categories being: Biographies, Bibles and Bible References, Commentaries, Devotional, Inspiration, Christian Life, Family, and Fiction.

The library is located near the Church Offices on the West side of the building. It is open whenever the church is open. Materials may be checked out by signing your name and dating the checkout cards found in the back of each item; and by then placing these cards in the checked-out/date-due box. Materials may be checked out for a three-week period. There is a Returned Items basket located on the center shelf of the library for the return of items.
